Scope of Works

• Remove overgrown vegetation, cut back hedges and remove unwanted shrubs and small tree stumps

• Clear and pressure wash patios, paths and paved areas and remove moss and weed growth

• Strip old lawn, cultivate and level base then lay turf or prepare for seed as agreed

• Supply and spread topsoil, compost and mulches and plant hedging, shrubs and seasonal beds

• Install edging, timber or stone features, basic drainage runs and repair or reinstate turf edges

• Remove green waste, rubble and surplus materials and dispose of to licensed facility

• Treat diseased plants or pest infestations and use appropriate PPE when handling soil or chemicals

Typical small front garden restoration takes 1–2 days, a medium rear garden 2–5 days and a full landscaped garden 4–10 days. Weather, access constraints, tree work, unexpected root or drainage issues and lead times for materials can extend the schedule, and newly laid turf or seeded areas need extra settling time.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• How many similar garden restorations have you completed recently and can you show photos or references

• Can you provide a written estimate breaking down labour, materials, disposal and any hire costs

• Are you covered by public liability insurance and do you carry relevant licences for tree work or pesticides

• Which plants, turf or materials will you use and what guarantees or aftercare do you offer

• How will you manage drainage, hidden services and boundaries with neighbours

• Will you need to hire machinery or scaffolding and how will that affect timing and cost

How to Avoid Surprises

• Ensure clear vehicle access and let the tradie know about narrow gates or long paths

• Mark locations of buried services, septic tanks or inspection chambers before work starts

• Agree a start date, working hours and contingency for bad weather or material lead times

• Have a tap and electricity access available or confirm supplier will bring a generator

• Secure pets and keep children away from the work area during operations
