Scope of Works

• clear beds of weeds and remove roots and runners

• hand-weed between paving and gravel using appropriate tools

• prune shrubs and small trees to shape, thin or reduce size

• trim hedges and tidy edges around lawns and paths

• collect and remove green waste, or chip and leave mulch if agreed

• spot-treat persistent weeds with herbicide if requested (confirm product)

Time on Site

Typical duration 1–4 hours for a standard front or back garden. Larger or overgrown gardens can take a day or more; restricted access, dense growth, nesting birds or bad weather will extend time.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• how many gardeners and how long will they be on site

• do you include green waste removal or will I need to arrange a skip

• will you use herbicides or other chemicals and which products

• are you insured for damage and public liability cover amount

• can you identify and protect wildlife or plants that are in season

• how will you tidy up and leave the site at the end of the day

How to Avoid Surprises

• give clear access and leave parking close to the garden

• point out any gates, water supply and storage for tools

• tell the trader about nesting birds or protected plants beforehand

• agree waste removal method and where green waste can be left

• check cancellation and additional cost triggers such as heavy growth or height work
