Scope of Works

• Inspect lawn, borders and hard surfaces and agree priorities

• mow and edge lawns and collect or mulch clippings

• trim hedges, shape shrubs and prune light branches (work above 2.5 m planned and quoted separately)

• weed beds, remove debris and clear paths and patio areas

• supply and plant selected plants or top up mulch and soil (materials charged separately)

• use PPE where appropriate and handle chemicals or compost with contamination precautions

Time on Site

Most routine maintenance visits take 1–4 hours; a full garden clearance or landscaping project can take 1–3 days. Time increases with overgrown hedges or trees, restricted access, wet weather, specialist waste removal or extra planting requests.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and employers' liability

• can you provide a written itemised quote separating labour, materials and disposal

• how will green waste be removed and are skip or disposal charges included

• what plant, fertiliser or pesticide products will you use and can you show safety data

• will you use subcontractors and who is the main contact on site

• do you offer any guarantee or follow-up maintenance and how are issues handled

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and a flat area for tools, waste bags and vehicle unloading

• reserve nearby parking or inform neighbours to avoid delays

• mark out buried services, irrigation and compost heaps to prevent damage

• agree disposal method and any skip permits or charges before work starts

• secure pets and keep children away from the work area and tell the tradie about any tree preservation orders
