• apply lawn feed and patch seed bare areas and advise on follow‑up care

Most routine maintenance visits take 1–3 hours; small lawn and border jobs 1–2 hours and larger gardens or significant hedge work 3–6 hours. Factors that extend time include garden size, heavy overgrowth, poor access, adverse weather, and the need for specialist equipment or additional waste removal

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and do you hold public liability cover?

• can you provide a written quote and what is included

• do you include green waste disposal or is that charged separately?

• will you use any pesticides or herbicides and can you provide product details?

• do you bring your own equipment and fuel and do you need on‑site power or water?

• what are your availability and cancellation terms for seasonal work?

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and a safe place to park near the gate

• point out fragile features, ponds, buried services or protected plants

• secure pets and let the gardener know about gates that must be kept closed

• confirm where green waste should be left or if skip access is required

• tell the tradie about low branches, neighbour boundaries and any estate or council restrictions
