Scope of Works

• Mow lawn, trim edges and remove grass clippings

• Prune shrubs and small trees, trim hedges to agreed height and shape

• Weed beds, remove invasive plants and apply mulch or topsoil to prepared areas

• Plant seasonal bedding, shrubs or turf and tidy borders as instructed

• Clear paths, patios and driveway debris and jetwash if requested (separate quote)

• Remove green waste and larger cuttings from site or load into agreed skip or bags

Most general gardening jobs take 1–4 hours for a small garden tidy and half a day–2 days for larger clearances or planting projects; delays occur with very overgrown sites, bad weather, restricted access or if specialist machinery or tree work is required.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured for public liability and for working on my type of property

• Who will carry out the work and will you use a team or sub-contractors

• How will you dispose of green waste and is disposal included in the quote

• Do you expect to need any permits, neighbours' permission or council consent for tree works

• What PPE and pesticide/herbicide practices will you use and will you inform me before chemicals are applied

• Can you provide a written quote with a clear scope, payment terms and any likely extra costs

How to Avoid Surprises

• Confirm safe, legal parking and a clear access route for tools and any small machinery

• Move fragile pots, furniture and garden ornaments out of the work area

• Tell your tradie about any underground services, irrigation or drainage details

• Arrange to secure pets and keep children away from the work area

• Agree in writing who supplies materials, where cuttings are left and any additional charges for extra time

• Check for any local restrictions on tree work or protected species before larger pruning or removals
