Tools & Materials

Step-by-Step

1. Measure the window width plus desired overlap (typically 15 cm each side) and drop from pole height to floor or sill.

   Why: Ensures sufficient coverage and correct curtain length.

2. Mark bracket locations above and to the sides of the window, spacing at least 10 cm from each frame edge.

   Why: Prevents curtains from obscuring the window and allows full stack-back.

3. Drill pilot holes at each mark using the appropriate bit for your wall type.

   Why: Facilitates screw insertion and avoids wall cracking.

4. Insert wall plugs and secure the brackets with screws, checking alignment with a spirit level.

   Why: Provides a stable support for the curtain pole or track.

5. Slide rings or gliders onto the pole/track, then clip or screw the pole/track into the mounted brackets.

   Why: Ensures smooth curtain movement and proper weight distribution.

6. Attach curtain panels to rings/gliders or pole eyelets, spacing evenly across the width.

   Why: Creates uniform pleats and smooth operation.

7. Adjust panel alignment, secure finials or end caps, and test slide action for ease.
