Scope of Works

• Design & survey – on-site measure-up, discuss styles (platform, ottoman, four-poster, built-in alcove) and agree timber/finish.

• Workshop fabrication – cut, joint and sand the frame, headboard and any storage drawers or gas-lift base; pre-fit hardware.

• Finishing – spray or hand-finish with lacquer/paint, upholster headboard if specified, and let cures harden.

• Delivery & installation – protect floors, carry components inside, assemble, square and level the bed, fix to wall/floor if required.

• Fit slats or divan bases, test gas-lift or drawer action and adjust.

• Snag & hand-over – walk-through with client, apply felt pads, issue care sheet/warranty and remove all packaging/off-cuts.

Time on Site

• Installation: 4 – 8 hours for a freestanding frame; allow 1–2 days if the bed is built-in, includes storage drawers or requires stair-hoist access.

• Workshop lead-time: typically 3 – 5 weeks from deposit to delivery (not spent in your home).

1. Will you provide drawings or 3-D renders before fabrication and are revisions charged?

2. What timber species / upholstery fabrics are included in the quote – and are they FSC-certified?

3. Do you finish in the workshop or spray on site (fumes, overspray precautions)?

4. How many installers will attend and do you carry insurance for moving large items upstairs?

5. What is the lead-time from deposit to delivery, and how is the payment schedule staged?

6. Does the price cover mattress support (slats/divan base) and future adjustments if timber settles?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Measure every doorway & stair turn so the headboard and side rails will fit upstairs.

• Reserve a parking space or permit close to the entrance for unloading long timbers.

• Clear the bedroom and adjacent landing; roll up carpets where sawdust could mark.

• Confirm electrical sockets if you want integrated reading lights or USB chargers.

• Ask whether freshly-painted pieces need off-gassing time before you sleep on the bed.

• Check the finish sample in your room’s lighting before sign-off – colours shift under LEDs vs daylight.
