Scope of Works

• Site survey and structural check of existing conservatory frame

• remove existing polycarbonate or glazed roof and clear glazing where required

• install new insulated roof shell (tiled, synthetic slate or insulated panel) with new rafters or aluminium support

• fit breather membranes, vapour barrier and insulation and line internally with plasterboard or specified finish

• tie in flashing, leadwork and gutters to existing walls and replace or adjust drainage as needed

• final checks, rooflights and vents fitted, site clearance, waste removal and handover; installers use PPE and dust protection for internal works

Typically 2–5 days on site for a standard conservatory roof replacement; tiled or structural conversions usually take 4–7 days, with extensions for poor weather, structural repairs, or delayed materials

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you have experience installing this roof type and can you show photos or references?

• Will you manage building‑reg compliance and provide any required certificates on completion?

• What exactly is included in the quote (scaffold, membranes, internal lining, gutters) and what is excluded?

• Who will do the internal finishing and plastering and is that included in your price?

• What warranty do you offer on workmanship and materials and how are claims handled?

• What access, parking and scaffold footprint will you need and for how long?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access to the conservatory and a safe area to store materials

• arrange parking or temporary parking permits for scaffold delivery

• confirm power and water availability or tell the installer if none are provided

• check party wall and planning requirements before work starts if changing structure or height

• secure pets and cover interior floors and furniture before installers arrive

• agree a written schedule of works, payment milestones, waste removal and estimated completion
