Scope of Works

• inspect bike frame and rack area for suitable mounting points

• measure and mark location to ensure the basket sits level

• drill pilot holes and fit inserts, rivets or threaded fixings appropriate to the frame or rack

• attach support plate and secure with stainless or zinc‑plated bolts and washers, wearing PPE (gloves, eye protection)

• adjust spacers or shims so the basket sits square and torque fixings to a safe setting

• tidy drilling debris and take away small packaging or arrange for disposal

Most straightforward installs take 30–90 minutes on site; time increases if the frame needs custom brackets, rusted or seized fixings need removing, or if multiple alignment checks are required

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• have you fitted support plates to this bike/frame type before

• what fixings will you use and are they stainless or anti‑vandal

• will you need to remove existing fittings or make permanent alterations to the frame

• do you carry spare plates, bolts and wash ers or will I need to buy parts separately

• do you have public liability insurance and do you provide a written quote and warranty on the work

How to Avoid Surprises

• confirm bike frame material (steel, aluminium, carbon) before the visit

• check on-site access and a flat area to work and park a small van if parts are needed

• tell the tradie if the bike is in a communal hallway or a landlord‑managed building

• agree who supplies parts and ask for a written price for any custom plate work

• clear the area of pets and valuables and ask about extra charges for return visits
