Scope of Works

• Conduct pre‑start site survey and measure height, length and ground conditions.

• Provide risk assessment, method statement and design to TG20:21 standards.

• Arrange and pay for the required highway/pavement permit, plus any parking suspensions.

• Deliver tubes, boards and fittings; erect scaffold with toe‑boards, guard‑rails and ties.

• Fit access ladder gates, debris netting or protective fans where specified.

• Carry out weekly statutory inspections and tag the structure.

• Dismantle, load out and remove all materials; leave site tidy and sign‑off paperwork.

Time on Site

½ – 1 day to erect and tag; 1–2 hours to dismantle. Longer if: limited access for lorry, complex shapes (L‑sections, conservatory bridges), extra lifts above 6 m, or delayed permit approval.

Questions to Ask Your Trade

1. Are you NASC‑member or TG20:21 compliant?

2. Will the quoted price include the council permit and any parking suspensions?

3. How many weeks of hire are covered before extra rental kicks in?

4. Do you carry out and log weekly inspections or is that my responsibility?

5. What public‑liability cover do you hold for work at height and over the highway?

6. Can you supply edge protection, debris netting or alarm sensors if needed?

7. How soon after notice can you strike the scaffold to stop further hire fees?
   

How to Avoid Surprises

• Confirm clear lorry access (3 m width, 4 m height) and reserve parking bays.

• Advise neighbours and arrange access through side paths or shared drives.

• Check whether a power‑line isolation or proximity agreement is required.

• Allow lead‑in time (5–15 working days) for council permit approval.

• Keep pets and children away during erection and dismantling.
