Scope of Works

• Inspect roofline & access – photograph blockages, note roof height and safety tie‑off points.

• Clear debris by hand or vacuum – remove leaves, moss and silt from gutters and downpipes.

• Flush with hose to check flow; rod any stubborn downpipe clogs.

• Report minor defects – loose brackets, cracked joints, slipped tiles.

• Dispose of waste legally – bag and remove or place in green bin; supply waste‑transfer note on request.

• Optional extras – fit gutter guards, clean fascia/soffit boards, minor sealant repairs.

• 45 – 60 minutes for a bungalow or small terrace.

• 1 – 2 hours for a two‑storey semi with front & back runs.Factors extending time: three‑storey access, heavy moss, tight alleyway, or guard installation.

  
  

Questions to Ask Your Trade

1. Are you upper‑tier waste‑carrier licensed and will you issue a waste‑transfer note?

2. Is the quote fixed (includes VAT, labour, disposal) or hourly after inspection?

3. Do you carry roof‑safe ladders or gutter‑vac poles for work above conservatories?

4. Will you photograph before/after to show gutters are clear?

5. Can you price gutter‑guard fitting during the same visit?

6. What is your rain‑day policy—reschedule or work in drizzle?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Send photos & approximate gutter length when requesting quotes.

• Reserve driveway space for van and tower base plates.

• Confirm if roof tiles are fragile (e.g., slate) so operatives bring the right ladder standoffs.

• Clear garden furniture & bins from below gutters for safe drop‑zone.

• Ask for the clean date on invoice—proof for home‑insurance upkeep records.
