Scope of Works

• remove and dispose of existing damaged slabs and broken fence panels

• prepare subbase for patios including excavation, compacting and laying MOT type 1 or sand

• lay new slabs to level with mortar or resin joints and cut to fit edges where needed

• replace fence posts in concrete and fit new panels or closeboard boarding with gravel boards where required

• install edge restraints, falls for drainage and weed-suppressant membrane as agreed

• dispose of waste and tidy site; provide basic joint pointing or sealant where specified

• do you include excavation, subbase and compaction in the quote

• will posts be set in concrete to a specified depth and do you guarantee them

• which materials and brands are included and can I choose alternatives

• does the price include disposal, skip hire and any groundworks plant

• what warranty do you provide on workmanship and materials and for how long

• how will you protect adjacent walls, lawns and planted borders during the work

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and a parking space for the van near the work area

• mark underground services and tell the tradie about known drains or buried cables

• agree who supplies materials and confirm exact slab sizes and fence panel heights in writing

• check for party wall or conservation area restrictions and confirm any permits beforehand

• keep pets and children away from the work area and agree rubbish collection points
