Time on Site

A straightforward install of two‑to‑four ready‑made units takes 3 – 6 hours.

Extra time is required for stud strengthening, complex media wiring, uneven walls, tall ladder work or bespoke scribing into alcoves.

Questions to Ask Your Trade

  1. Will you scan for pipes and cables before drilling, and is repair covered if anything’s hit?

  2. Are fixings rated for my wall type and the combined weight of loaded units?

  3. Does the quote include assembly, levelling and door/hinge adjustment?

  4. How will you hide power leads or AV cables—trunking, chased channels or grommets?

  5. Do you supply a written installation warranty and public‑liability insurance proof?

  6. What finishing trims or sealant colour will you use to match the wall?

  7. Will you remove packaging and old furniture as part of the price?

How to Avoid Surprises

  • Clear parking close to the door for carrying bulky cabinets.

  • Empty the installation area and protect floors with your own sheets if the quote excludes it.

  • Check walls for asbestos Artex or crumbly plaster that may need extra boarding.

  • Confirm any power‑socket moves with an electrician before the joiner arrives.

  • Get a fixed, itemised quote (inc. VAT) that lists call‑out, labour, materials and disposal.
