Scope of Works

• Measure mattress and wardrobe and plan a route through doorways, corridors and stairs

• Protect mattress, wardrobe panels and floors with covers, corner protectors and floor runners

• Disassemble wardrobe components (doors, rails, shelving) as required and label parts for reassembly

• Carry and manoeuvre mattress and wardrobe to the destination room using straps and two movers for stairs

• Reassemble wardrobe, position items as agreed and remove protective coverings

• Use PPE and bag or isolate any soiled or infested mattress; advise on safe disposal if requested

Most mattress and wardrobe moves take 45 minutes–2 hours depending on access, number of movers and whether the wardrobe needs full disassembly and reassembly

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured for removals, public liability and accidental damage

• How many movers will attend and what size vehicle will you bring

• Do you charge extra for stairs, long carry, tight corners or narrow doors

• Can you disassemble and reassemble the wardrobe and is that included in the quote

• Will you remove and dispose of the old mattress and what are the fees

• What protection do you use for floors, walls and carpets

How to Avoid Surprises

• Measure door frames, stair width and any lift dimensions and share with the tradie beforehand

• Clear corridors and remove obstacles from the route and the destination room

• Arrange parking or a loading bay close to the entrance to reduce carry time and costs

• Check building rules for delivery times, lift bookings or working-hour restrictions for flats

• Wrap or bag any soiled mattress and disclose stains or pest concerns before the job

• Secure pets and remove fragile items from the moving route
