Scope of Works

• Attend roadside to assess safety, vehicle condition and best recovery method

• recover and tow vehicle to a nominated address, local garage or secure compound

• load and secure vehicle using flatbed or towing rig appropriate to the vehicle

• perform winching or specialist recovery where safe and legal to do so

• provide paperwork: receipt, recovery note and details of drop‑off or storage

• offer short‑term storage and arrange onward delivery to a repairer if requested

Most recoveries take 30–90 minutes on site; simple roadside to local garage jobs are 30–60 minutes, while stuck, heavily damaged or police‑involved recoveries can take several hours

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• what is the call‑out fee and do you charge per mile or per minute

• are you insured for vehicle recovery and public liability and can you show proof

• will you use a flatbed, wheel‑lift or trailer and is that suitable for my vehicle

• what are your storage charges and how long before I need to collect or instruct a repairer

• what payment methods do you accept and is payment required on site

• how long to arrive and will you need access permissions or a key to move the vehicle

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a safe working area and remove obstacles so the recovery crew can work

• have keys and V5 or proof of ownership to hand to avoid delays

• tell the operator about gated estates, parking permits or restricted access in advance

• check if storage or aftercare fees apply before they load the vehicle

• have a contact number and agreed payment method ready to speed up handover
