Scope of Works

• Assess & protect area – inspect crack or hole, test for background soundness, sheet floors/furniture.

• Prepare substrate – cut back loose plaster, square‑off plasterboard edges, treat any damp or mould.

• Fix backing – insert plasterboard patch or bonding under‑coat; install mesh tape across joints.

• Apply finish plaster / filler – two‑coat float & skim or fine surface filler, feathered beyond damage.

• Sand & blend once dry for an invisible finish; mist‑coat bare plaster if painting is included.

• Tidy & dispose of debris; supply digital job sheet and care advice (dry‑time, paint wait, etc.).

• Minor dent / hairline crack: 30 – 60 minutes.

• Hand‑sized hole or multiple repairs: 1 – 2 hours plus drying.

• Drivers of extra time: damp‑treatment, feathering into textured finishes, restricted access (stairwell or high wall), or waiting between coats. Most trades schedule two short visits if a second skim is needed.

2. What drying time do you expect before I can paint or wallpaper?

3. Will you colour‑match paint or is decoration excluded from the quote?

5. How will you contain dust and protect adjacent floors & furnishings?

6. Do you carry public‑liability insurance for accidental damage to fixtures?

• Clear access & parking: reserve space near the door; move furniture 1 m clear of the wall.

• Photograph damage before work starts for peace of mind on finish quality.

• Confirm waste route: check whether small rubble goes in your bin or incurs a removal fee.

• Humidity matters: keep room ≥ 15 °C and ventilated to speed plaster cure.

• Agree finish level: patch‑only or full‑wall skim – write it into the quote.

• Colour touch‑up: supply your own leftover paint if you want an exact match.
