Scope of Works

• Dust and wipe reachable surfaces, skirtings, window‑sills and light switches.

• Vacuum or mop all floors, including stairs and rugs.

• Sanitise bathrooms – toilets, basins, taps, shower screens and mirrors.

• Kitchen refresh – wipe worktops, hob, cupboard fronts; empty bins and replace liners.

• Make beds & tidy high‑traffic rooms, straighten cushions and fold throws.

• Spot‑clean doors, handles and fingerprints on glass.

• Leave a brief completion note highlighting low consumables or maintenance issues.

Time on Site

A standard three‑bed property needs 2 – 3 hours per visit. Time rises with extra bathrooms, pets, ironing add‑ons or clutter that slows dusting and floor access.

Questions to Ask Your Trade

1. Do you bring all cleaning products and equipment, and are they pet‑/child‑safe?

2. Is there a minimum weekly booking and can unused hours roll over on holidays?

3. Are you insured for accidental damage and key‑holding while I’m out?

4. Will the same named cleaner attend each week or is there a rota?

5. How do you handle sickness or holiday cover – is the slot guaranteed?

6. Can I specify eco or allergy‑friendly products, and is there an extra charge?

7. What notice period is needed to cancel or reschedule without a fee?
   

How to Avoid Surprises

• Reserve on‑street parking or visitor permit for the cleaner’s car or van.

• Clear surfaces and floors of toys, dishes and paperwork so time is spent cleaning not tidying.

• List any delicate finishes (marble, oiled wood) that need special products.

• Confirm alarm codes, spare keys and pets’ routines before the first visit.

• Agree a written checklist of rooms and tasks, reviewed after the first month.
