Scope of Works

• Assess scooter condition and carry out basic safety checks on brakes, lights and controls

• Test battery health, recharge, and fit a replacement battery if required

• Repair or replace punctured tyres, inner tubes or wheel bearings

• Adjust or replace seat fittings, armrests, mirrors and control module mounts

• Provide temporary ramps or assist with safe loading/unloading for transport

• Supply and fit replacement parts (batteries, tyres, fuses) and clean/inspect electrical contacts

Most diagnostic visits and minor repairs take 30–90 minutes; battery replacements or larger mechanical repairs typically take 1–3 hours depending on parts availability and whether the scooter needs to be removed from site

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you have experience with this make and model

• Will you carry common replacement parts (batteries, tyres, fuses) or order to site

• What are your call-out fee, hourly rate and how do you charge for travel

• Do you have public liability insurance and can you provide a copy or policy number

• How do you handle and dispose of hazardous batteries and what PPE will you use in my home

• Do you offer transport/ramp assistance and are there extra charges for two-person lifts

How to Avoid Surprises

• Clear a 1.5–2m workspace around the scooter and remove loose obstacles

• Make the battery accessible and, if possible, run a short charge before the visit

• Check parking or access restrictions for the technician's van and inform building management if needed

• Tell your tradie about narrow doorways, steps or lift limits that could affect moving the scooter

• Move pets away from the work area and ensure adequate lighting for inspection
