Scope of Works

• inspect powerchair to identify fault and any immediate safety risks

• diagnose motor, controller, wiring, battery and charger using specialist tools

• test drive and carry out load tests to confirm intermittent or load‑dependent faults

• replace common on‑site parts (fuses, switches, tyres, motors or batteries if stocked)

• programme or recalibrate controller, check electrical safety and secure connections (engineer will isolate battery and use PPE)

• provide a written quote for major repairs or workshop work and arrange safe disposal of old batteries

diagnostic visits typically take 30–90 minutes; simple on‑site repairs or part swaps 1–2 hours; battery or controller replacements 1–3 hours. delays occur if parts must be ordered, if access is restricted or the fault requires in‑workshop repairs

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you authorised or trained to work on this make and model

• do you carry common spare parts and batteries on the van

• what warranty do you provide on parts and labour

• how will you test the chair after repair and can I see a demonstration

• how do you handle battery disposal and will you provide waste paperwork

• what is your call‑out fee and when might additional charges apply

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a path to the chair and make space for the engineer to work

• send make, model and serial numbers and photos before the visit

• tell the engineer about stairs, narrow doorways or if a hoist is needed

• ensure parking for a small van or provide permit details for restricted access

• keep pets away and tell the engineer if the battery is currently connected or shows damage
