Scope of Works

• Inspect parquet to identify loose, broken or cupped blocks and check subfloor condition

• remove and replace damaged blocks to match pattern and timber species where possible

• secure loose boards with appropriate adhesive or fixings and repair substrate if required

• spot sand and blend repaired areas and apply a compatible finish or offer full sand and reseal where necessary

• clean up and vacuum dust, dispose of waste and provide care and drying time guidance (PPE and dust extraction used for sanding)

Small spot repairs typically take 1–3 hours. Multiple replacements or seam repairs take half a day–1 day. Full sand and reseal projects take 1–3 days including drying and cure times. extended times happen with subfloor repairs, moisture testing, colour matching and finish curing

• have you repaired this parquet pattern and matched the timber species and finish before

• will you attempt spot repairs first or recommend a full sand and reseal and why

• how will you control dust and protect skirting, doors and adjacent rooms

• what guarantee do you offer on repairs and new adhesive or finish and how long does it last

• do you have public liability insurance and can you provide references or photos of similar jobs

• how long until I can refit furniture and what products will you use for the finish

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear furniture, rugs and fragile items from the room where possible

• provide easy access and a parking or drop‑off space for tools and materials

• tell the tradie about any past water or moisture issues and if the floor has been previously sanded

• agree scope, finish colour and guarantee in writing before work starts

• request dust containment or dust‑free sanding if you have allergies or sensitive equipment in the property

• check building rules and neighbour notifications for flats and confirm acceptable working hours
