Bathroom Fixture Installation Guide

Scope of Works

• Pre-site check: confirm pipe positions, water pressure, wall structure and electrical isolation points.

• Isolate services, remove old fixture, cap or flush pipework.

• Prepare substrate: drill & plug tiles or studs, fit backer boards or supports if required.

• Install and level new fixture using WRAS-approved connectors, isolation valves and fixings.

• Test for leaks, set flow restrictors or flush volumes, earth-bond metallic parts where needed.

• Apply sanitary-grade silicone around penetrations and edges; reinstate trims or skirting.

• Clear site, remove packaging and, if agreed, take away the old fixture for recycling.

Time on Site

1 – 3 hours for a straightforward tap or WC swap; up to one full day if multiple items, tiled drilling, or an electrified towel rail requiring spur isolation and certification.

1. Are the new fittings WRAS-approved and compatible with my water pressure?

2. Will you fit service valves so future maintenance doesn’t require a full shut-off?

3. Is removal and WEEE-compliant disposal of the old fixture included?

4. Do you provide Part P certification if an electrical spur is added or altered?

5. What warranty covers both the supplied products and your workmanship?

6. How will you protect tiles, floors and sealant joints while drilling or removing old gear?

7. Are call-out, congestion and parking charges already factored into the quote?

   
   

How to Avoid Surprises

• Access & Parking: Reserve a nearby space or arrange a visitor permit for the van.

• Isolation Valves: Check stopcock and local service valves turn freely before the visit.

• Clear Work Zone: Empty vanity units, clear toiletries and provide good lighting.

• Tile Matching: Keep spare tiles or grout on site in case walls need patching.

• Electrical Capacity: Confirm consumer-unit capacity before adding heated towel rails or illuminated mirrors.

• Ventilation: Provide airflow when new silicone is applied to speed curing.
