Blind Maintenance and Repairs Guide 

Scope of Works

• Inspect blind type (roller, Venetian, Roman, vertical, motorised) and diagnose failed parts.

• Remove blind from brackets; photograph cord routes for correct re-assembly.

• Replace or re-string cords/chains, clutches, tilt mechanisms, springs or low-voltage motors.

• Fit compliant safety chain breakers or tensioners to meet BS EN 13120.

• Swap damaged slats or hem bars; trim replacements to length if required.

• Re-hang, level and test smooth operation; programme motor limits via remote/app.

• Clean work area, dispose of worn parts and provide maintenance advice.

Longer if blinds are oversized, motorised units need re-programming, or work is above a stairwell requiring podium steps.

How to Avoid Surprises

• Access & Parking: Reserve a space near the property for the van.

• Clear Window Sills: Remove ornaments and open curtains fully to speed removal.

• Measurements: Note blind width and drop; oversized units may need two people.

• Power Supply: Advise if the blind is motorised and ensure a nearby socket for testing.

• Spare Parts: Provide any leftover slats or cord off-cuts for perfect colour matching.
