Scope of Works

• Inspect blind and headrail to identify faults such as broken slats, snapped cords or jammed carriers

• Test operation of control chain, wand and safety mechanisms

• Replace individual slats, carriers or cords where suitable parts are available

• Repair or replace headrail components and control mechanisms

• Realign and secure brackets, rehang blind and adjust tracking

• Clean the track and lubricate rollers; report if a full replacement is required

Most single‑window repairs take 30–90 minutes. Replacing a full headrail or servicing several windows will typically take 1–3 hours. Time increases with high or awkward access, corroded fixings, bespoke slats or waiting for ordered parts

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Have you repaired this brand or system of vertical blind before

• Does the visit include labour and small parts or will parts be charged separately

• If a full headrail or custom slats are needed, what is the lead time and cost

• Do you provide a written estimate and what warranty covers the repair or parts

• Will ladders or a second operative be required for my windows and is that included in the price

• How will you dispose of removed blinds and is disposal included

How to Avoid Surprises

• Clear the area around the window and remove fragile items

• Ensure safe access and tell the tradie about high windows, restricted space or communal stair restrictions

• Provide parking details or permit information for the operative

• Confirm whether the visit includes parts and the expected lead time for special slats

• Ask about PPE and whether mouldy or heavily soiled blinds require specialist cleaning or safe disposal
