Scope of Works

• Inspect blind and fixings, test tilt and lift operation

• Identify broken slats, frayed cords, damaged ladder tapes or seized tilt mechanism

• Restring or replace cords, ladder tape and bottom rail components

• Replace damaged slats or tilt cartridges where compatible parts are available

• Repair or replace headrail and brackets if unsafe or beyond simple repair

• Refit, test operation and clear site, report if full replacement is recommended

Most single‑blind repairs take 30 minutes–2 hours; a full headrail replacement or work requiring scaffolding can take 2–4 hours. Factors that extend time include ordering non‑stock parts, multiple blinds, and restricted or high‑level access

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you have experience repairing Venetian blinds of this size and brand?

• Can you supply replacement slats, cords or tilt cartridges on the visit and what is the lead time for special parts?

• What warranty do you offer on parts and labour and is it written?

• Will you need scaffolding or special access and how will that affect the price and timing?

• Are you insured for work at height and do you use PPE when working inside customers' homes?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Measure window size and note whether the blind is high, over stairs or hard to reach

• Clear the area under the blind and remove fragile items before the visit

• Send photos of the blind, headrail label and visible damage in advance

• Confirm parking, loading bay or permit requirements and any communal access codes

• Tell the tradie about pets, children or restricted working times

• Ask the tradie to bring common spare parts but expect 1–3 days lead time for special items
