Scope of Works

• Inspect chair for fabric/leather type, motor/electrical connections and areas of heavy soiling

• remove loose debris and vacuum crevices including under cushions

• carry out patch test on hidden area to confirm cleaning method is safe for upholstery

• deep clean using appropriate method (low‑moisture encapsulation, hot‑water extraction or specialist leather clean) and treat stains as agreed

• sanitise contact surfaces and deodorise where required; advise on odour sources if persistent

• isolate and check riser/lift motor and wiring; if required, disconnect motor before wet cleaning and re‑test after drying

• reassemble covers/cushions, advise on drying time and provide care recommendations

Most single riser recliner deep cleans take 1–3 hours on site; drying typically adds 2–6 hours depending on ventilation and fabric. Factors that extend time include heavy stains, motor or wiring work, multiple chairs and restricted access

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you have experience cleaning riser recliner chairs and can you show examples

• which cleaning method will you use for my upholstery type and do you do a patch test

• can you isolate the motor/electrics before wet cleaning and do you carry qualifications for electrical checks

• how long will the chair take to dry and do you provide fans or dehumidifiers if needed

• what guarantees do you offer on stain and odour removal and what counts as an extra charge

• will you need water and power on site and is there a minimum call‑out fee

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear space around the chair and remove fragile items to give technicians room to work

• confirm parking and access for van or equipment so call‑out time is not extended

• let the tradie know the upholstery type and any previous treatments or repairs

• advise about pets and secure them during the clean to avoid contamination or delays

• check flat/lease rules for working at height or electrical work in communal properties and arrange any required permissions
