Scope of Works

• Inspect trees and bushes and agree scope, access and exclusion zones

• dismantle and remove branches using appropriate rigging and chipping where needed

• section and remove trunk material and load onto vehicle for disposal or recycling

• stump grinding or stump treatment if requested and quoted separately

• clear arisings, chip where possible and remove waste to licensed recycling or disposal sites

• leave site tidy and complete a safety check; operatives will use PPE and set exclusion zones

Typical small garden tree and bush removals take 3–6 hours; larger trees or multiple removals can take 1–2 days. time increases if access is restricted, a crane is needed, a protected species survey is required, stump grinding is included or poor weather delays work

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and employer’s liability and can i see certificates

• will you remove the stump or is that an extra cost

• do you need any licences, council permission or notice for a tree preservation order (TPO)

• how will you deal with arisings and what are disposal charges

• will you need to close the road or arrange traffic management and who organises that

• who will supervise the job and how will you confirm the site is left safe and tidy

How to Avoid Surprises

• confirm vehicle access and parking for chipper and removal lorry

• point out underground services, drains, cables and garden features before work starts

• check for nesting birds or bats and mention any recent wildlife sightings

• keep pets indoors and secure children away from the work area

• agree written quote that includes disposal, stump work and any extra permits or traffic management

• arrange neighbour access if trees are near boundaries and confirm who pays for any fence repairs
