Scope of Works

• Inspect tree and site to assess size, health and access

• remove dead, diseased or dangerous branches and perform crown reduction or thinning as agreed

• sectional felling and lowering of large stems using rope and harness techniques to protect gardens and buildings

• grind or remove stump if requested and supply separate quote for stump work

• chip arisings and remove green waste or leave woodchip on site by agreement

• set up safety exclusion zone, use PPE and provide traffic or pedestrian management for roadside work

Small pruning or deadwood removal typically 1–3 hours; complete tree removal can take 1–2 days depending on size and access; stump grinding usually 1–3 hours. factors that extend time include restricted access, need for heavy plant or cherry picker, proximity to buildings or power lines, and nesting season delays

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and employers' liability and can you provide certificates?

• what method and equipment will you use and will you need a cherry picker, scaffold or road closure?

• will you check for TPOs or conservation area restrictions and handle applications if required?

• how will waste be disposed and are green waste removal costs included in the quote?

• do you have experience with this species and working near power lines or buildings?

• will I receive a written estimate, start date and any workmanship guarantee?

How to Avoid Surprises

• provide clear access and parking or confirm where the crew can park a van and trailer

• flag overhead cables, buried services and fragile structures before work starts

• check for nesting birds; work may be delayed between March–August if active nests are present

• move vehicles and belongings out of the drop zone and tell neighbours about noisy or disruptive work

• agree waste plan up front so you know whether chip stays on site or is removed and who pays
