Scope of Works

• inspect tree and site for safety and protected status

• check for overhead cables, buildings and access constraints

• cordon off work area and set up safety zones

• prune or fell tree sections using chainsaws and rigging where needed

• section timber to manageable lengths and cut or split logs for stacking

• chip branches and remove arisings or load for disposal as agreed

• tidy site, leave stacked logs for seasoning and provide waste paperwork if required

Small pruning or crown lifting: 1–3 hours; single medium tree felling and log preparation: 4–8 hours; complex jobs, multiple trees or restricted access can take 1–2 days depending on crew size and equipment

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and for tree felling work

• do you hold a waste carrier licence and include disposal in the quote

• will you need local authority permission or is the tree subject to a TPO

• is stump grinding included or quoted separately and what is the extra cost

• how will you protect nearby structures, fences and lawns during work

• can I get a written quote that lists work, timings and waste removal details

How to Avoid Surprises

• confirm vehicle access and on‑site parking for lorry, skip or chipper

• point out property boundaries and remove delicate items from the work area

• flag up overhead cables, outbuildings and underground services before starting

• check for TPOs or planning restrictions and confirm who handles permissions

• keep pets indoors and arrange a contact number for the day of the job

• agree disposal method and get the quote in writing including waste removal
