Scope of Works

• chip branches on site where possible, collect arisings and load for disposal or recycling

• cordon work area, use PPE and check for overhead cables and buried services before cutting

Small garden mowing and light pruning typically takes 1–3 hours; a medium job with one or two trees 3–6 hours; larger tree removals, stump grinding or work requiring a crane/scaffold can take 1–2 days. factors that extend time include poor access, tree size, weather and obtaining permissions

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and can you show public liability cover and waste carrier details

• do you hold arboricultural qualifications or NPTC certificates for chainsaw work

• will you check for TPOs or conservation area rules and apply for permissions if needed

• is disposal included in the quote or charged separately and where will arisings be taken

• will you stump grind and tidy the site or leave stumps for later removal

• what is the proposed start date, likely duration and payment schedule

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear driveways and give space for vans, trailers and chippers

• point out underground services, gas pipes and water cables before work starts

• confirm neighbour access if large branches or equipment need to cross boundaries

• agree waste removal method and ask for waste carrier or disposal receipts

• secure pets and keep children away from the work area
