• supply and erect scaffold, mobile tower or arrange MEWP hire as agreed

• install edge protection, toe boards and safe access ladders or walkways

• tie and guard scaffold to the structure where required and fit sheeting if requested

• protect windows, gutters and landscaping and provide ground protection for deliveries

• carry out daily safety checks, provide dismantle and remove access and leave site tidy

Typical durations vary: erecting and dismantling full scaffold for a mid‑terrace is usually 3–5 days in total, a mobile tower setup for a single elevation 3–6 hours and a one‑day MEWP hire covers short jobs; factors that extend time include adverse weather, restricted access, required structural repairs and permit or traffic management arrangements

• which access option do you recommend for my property and why

• do you have public liability insurance and can you supply a copy of the certificate

• does the price include erection, sheeting, daily inspections and dismantle

• who organises MEWP hire, road closures or traffic management and who pays

• what PPE and contamination controls will operatives use and how will you protect neighbours

• what is the weather contingency and extra day rate if works are extended

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access and a level area for scaffold base and delivery vehicles

• reserve parking or apply for a temporary bay for deliveries and MEWP

• move cars, garden furniture and fragile items away from the work area

• check for conservation area or listed building restrictions and notify local authority if needed

• tell neighbours about scaffold on boundaries and arrange access agreements if required

• confirm location of overhead services and arrange disconnection or protection if necessary
