Scope of Works

• inspect the wood and test a small area to identify the stain type and wood species

• advise on best removal method (light sanding, chemical stripper or wood bleach) and risks for your floor or furniture

• carry out stain removal using agreed method with dust extraction and PPE where needed

• neutralise and clean the area and lightly sand to a finish ready for re-staining or sealing if requested

• protect surrounding surfaces and tidy up debris; dispose of waste materials responsibly

• advise on follow-up finishes (stain, lacquer) and any drying or ventilation requirements

Most spot stain removals take 2–6 hours; larger areas, multiple treatment stages or deep-set tannin can take 1–2 days. Factors that extend time on site include number of coats to remove, drying/neutralising time, access constraints, need for specialist machines or scaffold, and additional surface repairs

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear the work area of furniture and valuables to give full access

• confirm parking or unload space for vans and any permit requirements

• tell the tradie about pets, ventilation limits or no-go areas in advance

• check for any building/lease restrictions on chemicals or work at height if relevant

• agree how waste and contaminated materials will be handled and removed
