Scope of Works

• inspect sink, pipes and waste to identify leak source

• isolate water supply and test under-sink fittings

• remove and inspect waste trap, seals and flexible hoses

• replace washers, seals, waste fittings or valves as required

• reseal joints and underside connection and carry out pressure test

• clean up work area, dispose of small parts and show work done

• wear PPE and manage contaminated water safely

Most simple sink leak repairs take 1–2 hours on site including testing; jobs that need parts ordered, replacement wastes or access into cabinetry can take 3–6 hours or need a return visit

• are you a qualified plumber and insured for domestic work

• what does the call-out fee include and when is a second visit needed

• can you source parts on the day or will items need ordering

• do you provide a written estimate and warranty on repairs

• how will you protect cabinets and floors and deal with contaminated water

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear under-sink cupboards so tradesperson has immediate access

• confirm parking or permit arrangements for the van

• know where the stopcock is and give access if needed

• keep pets away from the work area and remove small items from surfaces

• advise tradie of recent repairs, mould or water-damaged units before arrival
