Scope of Works

• Inspect kitchen, bathrooms, utility rooms, drains and external entry points to identify species and infestation level

• place bait stations, gels and monitoring traps in targeted locations and apply residual insecticide to crevices and skirtings

• treat drains and external access points where cockroaches harbour or are entering the property

• remove and replace monitoring traps, collect dead insects and advise on hygiene and food-storage to reduce attractants

• seal obvious gaps and recommend further repairs where needed (major structural work quoted separately)

• provide follow-up visits and monitoring; technicians use PPE and take steps to avoid contamination of food-preparation surfaces

Most initial inspections and first treatments take 1–2 hours; follow-up visits are usually 30–60 minutes. Larger or hidden infestations, communal blocks, restricted access to drains or the need for specialist drain work can extend time on site

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and certified for pest control and can you show the certificate

• which chemicals or baits will you use and are they safe around children and pets

• how many visits are included and what is the expected timeframe to clear the infestation

• do you need access to kitchen cupboards, appliances, loft or drains during the visit

• will you provide a written treatment plan and any aftercare advice in writing

• what guarantee do you offer and does it cover re-infestation or neighbouring flats

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear food, dishes and remove pet bowls from treatment areas

• ensure easy access to under-sink, boiler and appliance cupboards and clear a small working area

• arrange parking close to the property or inform building management of deliveries for the visit

• keep pets and children away from treatment areas and cover or remove fish tanks

• tell the technician about communal drains, neighbour issues or previous treatments so they can plan appropriate follow-up
