Scope of Works

• inspect carpets, soft furnishings, skirting and pet areas to pinpoint infestation

• carry out targeted application of insecticide and insect growth regulator to affected areas

• treat or advise on treatment of pets and pet bedding and recommend veterinary guidance where needed

• spot-treat cracks, under furniture and along skirting; treat hard-to-reach harbourage points as required

• remove and dispose of contaminated vacuum bags and advise on laundering of bedding

• schedule or advise on a follow-up visit (commonly 7–14 days) and provide re-entry and safety guidance

Most single-treatment visits take 1–3 hours for a typical flat; larger houses or severe infestations can take 2–4 hours including inspection and set-up

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• what products will you use and are they safe for children and pets

• do you include a follow-up visit and what is the guarantee period

• will you need access to lofts, underfloor or communal areas and can you confirm access requirements

• what preparation do you require from us (vacuuming, washing bedding, moving furniture)

• are you insured and do you hold appropriate pest control certificates

• how long before treated areas are safe to re-enter and when can pets return

How to Avoid Surprises

• secure or remove pets ahead of the visit and inform the operator of any animal health issues

• vacuum thoroughly before the visit and bag the contents for removal if advised

• clear access to skirting, under furniture and pet areas to reduce labour time

• check parking or loading access for the technician and advise on estate or communal entry requirements

• ask the operator to confirm PPE and contamination handling and whether any items should be laundered separately
