Scope of Works

• Inspect property to locate maggot/larvae hotspots (kitchen bins, drains, food waste, lofts, compost)

• remove and bag contaminated waste and dead larvae using PPE

• apply targeted insecticidal or residual treatments to breeding sites and entry points

• clean and sanitise affected surfaces and drains where required to remove food sources and odours

• advise on prevention measures and, if needed, arrange follow‑up monitoring visits

• handle contaminated material and waste in line with hygiene and waste regulations

Most maggot inspections and treatments take 1–3 hours on site; extensive infestations, deep drain work or high‑access tasks can extend to 4–6 hours or require follow‑up visits

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured and licensed to carry out maggot/fly treatments?

• what products will you use and are they safe around children, pets and food areas?

• will you remove and dispose of contaminated waste or do I need to arrange it?

• do you provide a follow‑up visit or guarantee and what does it cover?

• will you wear PPE and how will you contain contamination during treatment?

• are there any additional charges for restricted access, drains work or after‑hours attendance?

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access to bins, drains, loft hatches and any suspected hotspots

• remove fresh food, cover pet bowls and store baby items away from treatment areas

• confirm parking or drop‑off space for the technician and inform them of access restrictions

• secure pets and keep children away from treated areas until safe per the tradie’s instructions

• check building rules or landlord permissions for treatments in flats or communal areas

• ask the tradie to confirm required follow‑up actions you should do (bin cleaning, sealing gaps)
