Scope of Works

• Inspect property for droppings, grease marks, nesting and likely entry points

• Deploy and service traps and/or secure bait stations where appropriate

• Remove and safely bag heavily contaminated nesting or food waste using PPE

• Carry out basic proofing (seal small gaps, advise on larger repairs) and record recommended works

• Provide follow-up checks and monitoring visits and report on evidence of activity

• Issue written safety advice on contamination, PPE and any areas requiring specialist trades

Most initial inspections take 30–60 minutes; an on‑site treatment visit is typically 1–3 hours depending on property size. Follow‑up monitoring usually requires 1–2 short visits over 1–4 weeks. Factors that extend time include heavy infestation, difficult loft or cavity access, and any proofing or structural work

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured and licensed to carry out pest control in domestic properties

• What methods will you use (traps, bait stations, rodenticides) and what are the risks to children and pets

• Do you provide a written report and proofing recommendations and which works are included or extra

• How many follow‑up visits are included and what happens if mice persist

• How will contaminated materials be handled and do you use PPE to reduce health risks

• Do you recommend any immediate actions for occupants (pets, food storage) before you arrive

How to Avoid Surprises

• Ensure clear access to lofts, crawl spaces and affected rooms

• Inform your tradie about pets, children and any chemical sensitivities in the household

• Arrange parking close to property and check for any access restrictions or neighbour notices

• Be prepared for the possibility of extra costs for proofing or specialist trades if holes or structural repairs are found

• Keep food and surfaces clear before treatment and follow any safety instructions the tradie gives
