Scope of Works

• carry out a walk-through to agree areas to clean and note heavy soiling

• dust and wipe surfaces including skirting boards, ledges and switches

• vacuum carpets and rugs and mop hard floors with appropriate cleaners

• clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, sinks and bathroom fixtures

• spot-treat stains and attend to oven or carpet cleaning as agreed (may be extra)

• use PPE and follow contamination controls for bins, pet areas or bodily fluids

Most standard cleans for a one- or two-bedroom home take 2–4 hours for a single cleaner; larger houses, deep cleans or end-of-tenancy work typically take 4–8 hours or more and may need a team

• are you insured and can you provide public liability cover details

• do you provide your own cleaning products and equipment or should I supply anything

• can you give a fixed price for the job or an estimated hourly total

• do you carry DBS checks for cleaners who will be alone in the property

• what is your cancellation policy and how do you handle damage or breakages

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear personal items and fragile objects from surfaces before arrival

• confirm parking or drop-off arrangements to avoid delays

• tell the cleaner about pets, allergies or biohazard areas in advance

• agree in writing what is included (rooms, oven, windows) and any extra charges

• check access requirements for flats (fob, concierge, key safe) and share details before the job
