Scope of Works

• vacuum and mop hard floors in lounge and kitchen, including accessible areas under furniture

• dust and wipe surfaces, skirting boards, door frames, switches and light fittings

• clean kitchen units, worktops, splashbacks and sink; degrease hob and surrounding areas

• wipe down external appliance surfaces (internal oven/fridge cleaned only if booked as extra)

• clean internal glass and windowsills (internal only) and polish mirrors

• empty bins, remove small amounts of rubbish and advise on bulky waste removal options

• report heavy staining, mould or repairs found and provide a separate quote if needed

Time on Site

Most lounge and kitchen cleans take 2–4 hours for one cleaner; with two cleaners expect 1–2 hours. Heavily soiled kitchens, internal oven/fridge cleaning or large homes can extend to 4–6 hours or more

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and can you supply proof of public liability cover?

• do you bring your own cleaning products and are they suitable for my worktops/floors?

• will you use PPE and safe chemical handling in food preparation areas?

• what is included in the written quote and are oven/fridge interiors listed as extras?

• how many cleaners will attend and how long do you estimate on site?

• do you charge extra for travel, parking or access outside normal hours?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear floor space and remove fragile or valuable items before arrival

• confirm parking or loading space and any permits for the trades van

• ensure a working mains water supply and an available socket in the kitchen

• secure or remove pets and tell the cleaner about allergies or access concerns

• agree whether cleaners can use your bins or whether contractor should remove waste

• check any building or estate rules on permitted working times in flats
