Scope of Works

• carry out an initial walkround and agree areas and priorities with the client

• remove loose rubbish and vacuum/mop to remove surface dirt

• deep clean kitchen surfaces, degrease cooker hob and extractor, wipe cupboards and sink areas

• clean bathrooms and toilets including descaling tiles and shower areas where accessible

• vacuum and spot-treat carpets or arrange shampooing as an extra

• clean internal windows, wipe skirting boards, doors and light switches and remove cobwebs

• use standard cleaning products and PPE; flag mould/contamination that needs specialist treatment

Typical deep cleans take 2–4 hours for a studio or 1-bed, 4–8 hours for a 2–3 bed, and a whole-house clean may take a day or two depending on soiling levels and number of cleaners required Factors that extend time include heavy staining, hoarding, blocked access, required drying times for carpets and specialist treatments

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and can you provide proof of public liability insurance?

• which products will you use and are they safe for my surfaces and pets?

• do you offer a written checklist or before-and-after photos on completion?

• will you move furniture and is there an extra charge for heavy items?

• can you remove bulky waste and what are the disposal fees?

• what is your cancellation or reschedule policy and any deposit requirements?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access routes and park a short distance for loading equipment

• secure pets and remove fragile items from work areas

• tell the cleaner about mould, pests or biohazard concerns so PPE and specialist help can be arranged

• confirm availability of water and electricity and whether lifts or stairs apply for upper floors

• agree in advance any extra services such as oven cleaning, carpet shampoo or waste removal and get written quote

• check building or estate rules about contractor access, working hours and parking permits
