Scope of Works

• initial walk-through to agree scope and access points

• dust and wipe surfaces including skirting boards and high-touch areas

• vacuum carpets and rugs, sweep and mop hard floors

• kitchen clean: wipe worktops, clean oven exterior, sanitise sink and taps

• bathroom sanitise: clean toilet, bath/shower, tiles and mirrors

• internal window cleaning and spot-cleaning doors and light fittings

• use PPE for hygiene and report mould or contamination for additional quoting

Most standard domestic cleans take 1–3 hours for a small flat and 2–4 hours for a 3‑bed house; deep cleans or specialist tasks (oven, carpets) typically add 1–3 hours or require a separate visit. Factors that extend time include heavy soiling, pet hair, restricted access and number of cleaners.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and accidental damage

• do you have a DBS check and relevant references for domestic work

• do you bring your own equipment and products or should I provide anything

• is the price hourly or fixed and what is included in a standard clean

• how do you handle stubborn stains, mould or biohazard contamination and any additional charges

• what is your cancellation policy and how do you charge for extra time or staff

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear surfaces and remove fragile items before arrival

• book parking or provide permit details for narrow streets

• confirm access details: key safe code, neighbour access or being at home

• tell them about pets and secure them during the clean

• agree disposal of bulky items and any extra charges for heavy waste
