Scope of Works

• Deep clean of kitchen areas including worktops, splashbacks, external appliances, sink and taps

• Bathroom deep clean with limescale and grout treatment, shower screens and toilet sanitised

• Vacuuming and steam or shampoo of carpets and upholstery where requested

• Internal windows, skirtings, doors and light fittings dusted and wiped

• moving small furniture to clean underneath and clean hard-to-reach areas

• use of appropriate PPE and containment for heavy soiling, mould or biohazard material

Most whole-house deep cleans take 3–6 hours for a 1–2 bed flat and 6–10 hours for a larger 3–4 bed house. Time increases with heavy staining, mould treatment, oven or upholstery cleaning, pet hair removal, or if high-level access with ladders or scaffold is required. Tradespeople may work in pairs for larger jobs and will allow dwell time for certain cleaners to be effective.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• What exactly is included in the deep clean checklist and what counts as an extra?

• Do you bring your own products and are they pet- and surface-safe?

• How many operatives will attend and how long do you estimate the job will take?

• Do you have public liability insurance and can you provide a reference or photos of similar work?

• Are there extra charges for ovens, upholstery, carpets or heavy stain removal?

• What PPE and contamination controls do you use for mould, pet mess or biohazards?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access and remove personal items from work areas

• ensure hot water and electricity are available on the day

• reserve a parking space or notify neighbour if kerbside parking is restricted

• secure or remove pets and label fragile items

• tell the tradie about mould, pest droppings or severe stains beforehand

• check building or management rules for working at height, keys or contractor permits
