Scope of Works

• mow the lawn to an agreed height and tidy the edges

• use a pedestrian rotary or cylinder mower appropriate to your turf

• trim borders and around paths with a strimmer or hand tools

• collect and remove grass clippings or leave as mulch according to instruction

• inspect and report hazards such as glass, holes, nettles or dog mess

• operate equipment using PPE and standard safety checks

Most routine back garden cuts take 20–60 minutes; small city gardens 15–25 minutes and overgrown or large lawns 1–2 hours. Factors that extend time include long grass, steep slopes, lots of edging, restricted access or the need to bag and remove clippings

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you charge a call‑out or a minimum visit fee

• is disposal of grass clippings included or extra

• do you have public liability insurance and can you supply proof

• what equipment will you use and do you need access to a tap or power

• how do you charge for long or overgrown lawns and any extra visits

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear toys, garden furniture, plant pots and hoses from the lawn

• ensure at least a metre of clear access from vehicle to back garden or confirm parking

• tell the tradie about pets, holes, nettles or recent treatments on the lawn

• agree beforehand whether clippings are left as mulch or taken away

• expect postponement in very wet weather as cutting wet turf risks damage and safety issues
