Scope of Works

• Site walk‑through & debris removal – clear stones, toys and branches before machinery starts.

• Set mower height & cut lawn in overlapping passes; double‑cut if grass is knee‑high.

• Edge borders & obstacles with a strimmer or edging shears; light garden pruning as agreed.

• Apply lawn treatment – granular feed and selective herbicide tailored to season & soil.

• Spot‑spray persistent weeds while foliage is fresh‑cut for best uptake.

• Collect/ mulch clippings; load green waste for licensed disposal or council bin.

• Blow‑down hard surfaces and issue treatment record card with after‑care advice.
  

Typical Cost (inc. VAT)

Time on Site

• Typical: 1 – 2 hours for a 150–200 m² lawn.

• Half‑day: saturated or over‑grown grass needing double passes, heavy leaf clearance, multi‑zone weed spraying.

• Full day: acre‑plus plots with ride‑on mowing, scarifying, or multiple disposal runs.
  

Questions to Ask Your Trade

1. Which cutting height will you set and can you adjust seasonally?

2. What fertiliser/herbicide formulation will you use and is it pet‑safe?

3. Is disposal of clippings included, and how many bags before extra charges apply?

4. Do you charge hourly or by area, and what is the minimum fee?

5. How do you avoid scorch or striping when applying feed on dry turf?

6. What guarantee is offered if weeds re‑emerge within a set period?

7. Are you licensed & insured for professional‑grade pesticide application?
   

How to Avoid Surprises

• Access & parking: reserve a space close to the gate for van and mower ramp.

• Remove obstacles: furniture, hoses and pet toys save chargeable time.

• Green‑waste bins: check council rules or pre‑book tip permits.

• Water & weather: lightly water the lawn the evening before treatment; postpone if high winds or heavy rain are forecast.

• Pet & child safety: keep off the grass until treatments dry (usually 2–3 h).

• Wet‑weather buffer: agree a reschedule policy—herbicides need 24 h rain‑free to work.
