Scope of Works

• Survey lawn & identify hazards (stones, toys, pet waste). • Set mower height & stripe pattern suited to grass length/season. • Cut lawn with rotary or cylinder mower; strim edges and around obstacles. • Collect or mulch clippings according to client preference. • Blow or sweep paths & patios, remove stray debris. • Bag or compost waste and load into green-waste bin / van if disposal agreed.

Time on Site

• 30–45 minutes for a small terraced-house lawn.

• 1–2 hours for a 200 m² suburban garden including edging and clean-up.Extra time needed for wet grass, long initial cut, steep slopes or restricted mower access through the house.

  
  

Questions to Ask Your Trade

1. Are you insured for public liability and mower damage?

2. Is the quoted rate per hour or by lawn size—and is VAT included?

3. Do you offer mulching vs. collection and green-waste disposal?

4. Will you sharpen blades regularly to avoid grass scorch?

5. Can you combine seasonal treatments (feed, scarify) at a package price?

6. What is the minimum visit charge if you need fortnightly cuts in winter?

7. How will you protect flowerbeds and irrigation lines during mowing?

   
   

How to Avoid Surprises

• Photograph lawn & access gate when requesting quotes to avoid size misunderstandings.

• Reserve parking for van or trailer near the gate on mowing day.

• Flag dog mess or hidden stumps in advance; gardeners may surcharge for clearance.

• Confirm whether green bin capacity is sufficient or off-site disposal costs extra.

• Discuss weather policy—will they reschedule or mow wet grass at reduced quality?
