Scope of Works

• mow lawn to an agreed height using rotary or cylinder mower

• trim edges along paths, patios and flower beds with a strimmer or edging tool

• strim around fences, trees, sheds and garden furniture

• collect or mulch clippings as agreed and clear grass from paths and patios

• remove small debris and check for hazards before starting work

• operate equipment using appropriate PPE such as ear and eye protection

Typical times: small front lawn 20–45 minutes, medium garden 45 minutes–2 hours, large or overgrown lawns 2–4 hours or longer. Factors that extend time include very long or wet grass, lots of obstacles, restricted access, and required disposal arrangements.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you include green waste disposal in the quoted price

• what machinery will you use and is it suitable for slopes or uneven lawns

• are you insured for property damage and public liability and can you show proof

• will you handle pet waste or should I clear it beforehand

• what happens if the lawn is too overgrown or wet on the day and are there extra charges

• can you provide a regular maintenance schedule and price for repeat visits

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access to the garden and unlock gates or leave keys where agreed

• remove toys, pots and any obstacles and clear pet faeces before the visit

• tell the tradie about buried irrigation, sprinkler heads or shallow electrics

• confirm parking or permit arrangements to avoid delays or extra call‑out time

• agree disposal method and where to leave green waste or whether you will keep clippings as mulch
