• mow lawn to an agreed height and collect clippings

• trim back light overgrowth and tidy small shrubs (major hedge work quoted separately)

• clear leaves, weeds and general debris from borders and hard surfaces

• bag and remove green waste or leave in agreed location for homeowner collection

• report hazards (holes, broken paving, contaminated soil) and advise on next steps

Most domestic grass cutting and tidy-up visits take 1–3 hours depending on lawn size and how overgrown it is. Factors that extend the job include heavy debris or leaf build-up, steep or uneven ground, restricted access requiring hand tools, additional hedge work, and time spent loading and removing green waste

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you fully insured for public liability and employee liability

• do you charge per hour or provide a fixed price for the full cut

• will you remove green waste and what are the disposal charges

• what equipment will you use and do you need access to mains power

• can you deal with moss or weed treatment and is that an extra cost

• can you provide references or photos of similar recent jobs

How to Avoid Surprises

• confirm access and parking for the vehicle and trailer

• clear ornaments, children’s toys and potted plants from the lawn area

• tell the tradie about pets and secure them while work is carried out

• agree green waste disposal or provide a garden bin to avoid skip costs

• flag any access restrictions or estate rules that affect arrival times or noise
