Scope of Works

• Inspect lawn size, borders and access for equipment

• mow and trim grass to agreed height using mower and strimmer as needed

• edge along paths, patios and flowerbeds

• clear and bag clippings or leave as agreed (bagging may incur a charge)

• remove light debris and check for hazards such as stones, toys or pet fouling

• work wearing PPE and take care near slopes, buried cables and external sockets

Time on Site

Most small domestic lawns take 1–2 hours; medium gardens or multiple areas typically take 2–4 hours. Factors that extend time include long or wet grass, limited access, lots of debris, steep slopes and additional edging or hedge work.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and can you provide proof?

• do you include removal of clippings in the price or is there a disposal fee?

• will you bring petrol and consumables or do you charge extra for fuel?

• do you need access to a tap or electricity and where would you park equipment?

• how do you charge for difficult access, slopes or missed visits due to weather?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear paths and remove toys, chairs and hoses before arrival

• ensure a parking spot close to the garden for trailers or mowers

• tell the tradie about buried cables, irrigation and hidden obstacles

• agree in writing whether clippings are removed, left as mulch or composted

• secure pets and inform the tradie of any gates that need to be kept closed
