Scope of Works

• mow lawn to an even height using the appropriate mower

• trim edges and strim around fences, beds and paths

• remove weeds from borders and paving and apply spot treatment if requested

• collect and bag grass cuttings and green waste for disposal

• inspect for hazards (glass, holes, nettles) and wear appropriate PPE

• flag areas that need turf repair, moss treatment or further garden work

Small front lawn and light weeding 30–60 minutes; typical medium back garden 1–3 hours; factors that extend time include heavy overgrowth, many planted borders, poor access, wet ground or need for multiple operatives

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and can you show public liability cover

• what exactly is included in the price (mowing, edging, weeding, disposal)

• how will green waste be removed and are disposal costs included

• do you use herbicides and which products do you propose to use

• do you bring all equipment and do you need access to electricity or water

• are there extra charges for long grass, slopes, tight access or bank holiday work

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure gates are unlocked or provide a key or access code

• clear ornaments, children’s toys and cars from work areas

• agree green waste removal method and where a skip or vehicle can park

• tell the tradie about ponds, buried cables or sprinkler systems

• arrange a nearby parking space or permit to avoid delays or extra charges

• check weather contingency and agree a rebook policy for heavy rain
