Scope of Works

• Mow the lawn to your agreed height using a pedestrian or ride-on mower as appropriate

• Strim and tidy edges around paths, fences, beds and garden features

• Hand-weed borders and paved areas and spot-treat persistent weeds with pet-safe products if requested

• Remove or mulch arisings and either bag for green waste disposal or leave as mulch per your instruction

• Cut back light overgrowth, report any lawn disease, moss or drainage issues and recommend next steps

• Clear up site and leave paths and driveways free of cuttings

Most small suburban gardens take 45 minutes–1.5 hours for mowing and light weeding; larger or overgrown gardens can take 2–4 hours. Factors that extend time include garden size, long or wet grass, lots of paved areas to weed, restricted access, parking distance and required repeat weed treatments

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you include green waste removal in the quote or charge extra?

• Which weedkillers or materials do you use and are they safe for pets and children?

• Will you cut to a specific lawn height and can you match previous mowing lines?

• Do you offer one-off visits and regular maintenance plans and what are the costs?

• Are you insured for third-party damage and what level of public liability cover do you hold?

• Do you need access to water or external power and where will you park equipment?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Clear parking close to the property or tell the tradie where they can unload

• Ensure gates are unlocked or provide a key/code and make tight access routes available

• Mark sprinkler heads, buried services and any delicate plants you don’t want touched

• Tell the tradie about pets and keep them indoors during chemical treatments

• Agree disposal for arisings and any extra charges for bulky green waste before work starts

• Expect mower use to be limited on very wet ground and arrange an alternative date if needed
