Scope of Works

• Survey cabin, probe for rot, check roof felt, windows, floor bearers and base level.

• Strip damaged felt or shingles; remove rotten logs/cladding, trims and fixings.

• Cut, treat and install replacement pressure-treated boards or logs; splice in new bearers if required.

• Lay heavy-duty roof felt or EPDM patch, seal ridges and drip edges; re-bed bargeboards.

• Realign doors/windows; plane, shim and refit hinges, locks and draught seals.

• Sand exterior where needed, apply fresh preservative or stain to blend repair.

• Tidy site, bag waste timber/felt, supply maintenance advice and workmanship warranty.

Time on Site

3 – 6 hours for a typical small roof patch and log replacement. Extra time if: whole roof re-felt, multiple doors realigned, significant rot in base bearers, or weather delays bitumen cure.

1. Will you supply pressure-treated logs that match my cabin profile?

2. Is rot treatment and preservative included on all cut surfaces?

3. What roof-covering grade will you fit—standard felt, heavy mineral felt or EPDM?

4. How do you protect the garden and plants while stripping old felt and timber?

5. What workmanship warranty and material guarantees do you provide?

6. Are scaffold tower hire, waste removal and congestion charges included in the quote?

7. Will new stain or paint match the existing colour, or should I budget for a full re-coat?

   
   

How to Avoid Surprises

• Access & Parking: Keep a clear 2 m path around the cabin and reserve a driveway space for the van/tower.

• Power & Lighting: Provide an outdoor socket and extension lead; check daylight hours if repairs run late.

• Weather Contingency: Agree a fallback date—roof felt cannot be laid in driving rain.

• Vegetation: Trim back shrubs and overhanging branches before the crew arrives.

• Pets & Kids: Keep away from the work area—nails and sawdust present hazards.

• After-care: Ask for a maintenance sheet outlining re-stain intervals and roof inspections.
